MAME4droid (0.37b5)

MAME4droid, developed by David Valdeita (Seleuco), is a robust port of the MAME 0.37b5 emulator originally crafted by Nicola Salmoria and the MAME Team. This Android adaptation stems from iMAME4all, designed for jailbroken iPhones and iPads, and it further draws from GP2X, WIZ MAME4ALL 2.5 by Franxis. MAME4droid enhances your mobile gaming experience by emulating over 2000 arcade game romsets from the MAME 0.37b5 version, with the inclusion of select games from newer MAME iterations. It's important to note that due to the vast array of games, performance can vary; some games may run smoothly, while others may not be fully compatible with MAME4droid.

Users should be aware that older devices may not handle the emulator well. To optimize performance, consider lowering sound quality or turning it off, reducing to 8-bit depth, underclocking the CPU and Sound CPUs, and disabling animations and smooth scaling. To start playing, place your MAME-titled zipped roms in the /sdcard/ROMs/MAME4all/roms folder after installation. Remember, MAME4droid is tailored for romsets from '0.37b5' and 'GP2X, WIZ 0.37b11 mame romset'. If you need to convert romsets from other MAME versions, use the "clrmame.dat" file located in /sdcard/ROMs/MAME4all/, alongside the ClrMAME Pro utility, which can be found at http://mamedev.emulab.it/clrmamepro/.
