Marvel SNAP's initial Spotlight Cache card for 2025, Victoria Hand, is an Ongoing character that enhances cards generated within your hand. While primarily associated with card-generation decks, Victoria Hand surprisingly excels in discard decks as well. This guide presents two effective deck builds for Victoria Hand, one for each archetype, to help you integrate her into the current SNAP meta.
Victoria Hand (2–3)
Ongoing: Cards created in your hand gain +2 Power.
Series: Five (Ultra Rare)
Season: Dark Avengers
Release: January 7, 2025
The Best Deck for Victoria Hand
A card-generation deck featuring Devil Dinosaur synergizes perfectly with Victoria Hand. This powerful combination is further enhanced by including Quinjet, Mirage, Frigga, Valentina, Cosmo, The Collector, Agent Coulson, Agent 13, Kate Bishop, and Moon Girl.
Iron Patriot, Mystique, and Speed can be substituted for Agent 13, Kate Bishop, and Frigga, offering flexible deck building options.
Victoria Hand Deck Synergies
- Victoria Hand boosts the power of cards generated in your hand.
- Agent Coulson, Agent 13, Mirage, Frigga, Valentina, Kate Bishop, and Moon Girl are your card generators. (Frigga and Moon Girl also duplicate key cards for added power or disruption.)
- Quinjet reduces the cost of generated cards.
- The Collector gains power with each generated card.
- Cosmo acts as a tech card, protecting Victoria Hand and Devil Dinosaur from attacks.
- Devil Dinosaur serves as your win condition, ideally played after Moon Girl or when you have numerous generated cards in hand.
Reports suggest Victoria Hand might buff cards generated in the opponent's hand or cards that change locations. Whether this is a bug or intended functionality remains unclear. If not a bug, the card text requires clarification. Regardless, it's a factor to consider when using Victoria Hand decks.
Effective Victoria Hand Gameplay
When playing a Victoria Hand deck, remember these strategies:
- Balance card generation and energy management: Maintain a full hand for maximizing Devil Dinosaur's power, while also generating cards and utilizing Victoria Hand's effect. Efficient energy use is crucial; sometimes skipping a turn to keep a full hand is more beneficial than filling the board.
- Use random cards strategically: Victoria Hand decks generate unpredictable cards. Use these strategically to mislead your opponent and maintain uncertainty about your next move.
- Protect your Ongoing lane: Opponents will likely target Victoria Hand with tech cards like Enchantress. To counter this, play Devil Dinosaur and Victoria Hand in the same lane and protect them with Cosmo.
Alternative Discard Deck for Victoria Hand
Victoria Hand is also proving effective in discard decks. A strong discard deck includes Victoria Hand, Helicarrier, MODOK, Morbius, Scorn, Blade, Apocalypse, Swarm, Corvus Glaive, Colleen Wing, Lady Sif, and The Collector.
Countering Victoria Hand
Super Skrull effectively counters Victoria Hand. Since many players use Doctor Doom 2099 decks, Super Skrull is a valuable tech card against both Victoria Hand and Doom 2099 lineups.
Other counters include Shadow King (removes Victoria Hand's buffs from one lane) and Enchantress (removes all Ongoing effects). Valkyrie can also disrupt power distribution by being played in a critical enemy lane.
Is Victoria Hand a Valuable Acquisition?
Victoria Hand is a worthwhile card. Whether acquired through the Spotlight Cache or purchased with Tokens, she offers a strong return on investment. While her effectiveness relies somewhat on randomness, her permanent buffs allow for consistent deck building. Her compatibility with card-generation and discard archetypes makes her a valuable asset for many players.
